Derby-Themed Auction Raises Money for Holy Family School

Hold on to your hats and to your horses as Holy Family School in Hannibal saddles up for its 19th annual dinner auction.  The 2020 theme is Hats and Horses, in honor of the Kentucky Derby.  Four tickets to the Kentucky Derby are one of the many items up for bid on Saturday, Feb. 22.  Doors open at 5 p.m. at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center.  Dinner and a silent auction follow, with the live auction starting at 7:30.

The annual auction is the biggest fundraiser of the year for Holy Family Catholic School.  Last year, the auction raised $82,000 for classroom renovations, books, computers and other big-ticket items.  The proceeds from this year will go toward additional renovations and technology.

Some of the big ticket items up for bid include weekend getaways, seats at the Fox Theater, Cardinals, Chiefs, and Blues tickets, plus many gift baskets and certificates to local businesses.
