The New Face of 2020
When I saw this picture of my nephew's 8th grade graduation from Holy Family School in Hannibal, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. I think my fella is the handsome dude on the top right, but it's hard to tell when 3/4 of every face is covered with a mask. You know it's bad when even the priest looks like he's going to leave mass and rob a bank.I didn't get to see Quinn's graduation in-person. I caught the highlights on live-stream. I also watched another nephew's wedding on Facebook Live. It's so sad that the most significant events of our lives--even our loved ones deaths--take place on video these days.
It is what it is. Not a lot you can do about it. If nothing else, I pray that isolation we feel now will help us appreciate our families and friendships even more.
