If This New AI Surveillance Comes to Missouri, Freedom is Gone
I rarely give anyone advice about something they should do since it's their business. However, I feel like I must speak up about a new artificial intelligence surveillance system that some want to put into place. If it happens, you can kiss your freedom goodbye.
Since I'm a certified computer tech when I'm not portraying a radio hero, I follow sites like Ars Technica who just shared an article that should chill you to the bone. It's entitled "Omnipresent AI cameras will ensure good behavior, says Larry Ellison" and you really should read it to see what's being planned.
He doesn't present it as a "what if" scenario, but a "when" and that should cause you great alarm. If you allow artificial intelligence to monitor every thing you do in Missouri, you'll be living in a police state.
On the surface, it offers what sounds like good points. With some of the recent incidents of excessive police violence, who wouldn't want illicit activities reported? The problem is it won't stop there. If this gets deployed in Missouri (and likely everywhere else, too), it will infiltrate every aspect of your life. If you're not aware, almost all smart televisions listen to every word you say already. Your smartphone is another obvious always on microphone near you.
Remember the Tom Cruise movie "Minority Report" where AI predicts crimes and arrests people before it can happen? That's the type of world this kind of technology intrusion will bring.
It's important that regular citizens speak up to those in power and refuse to allow this type of surveillance before it's too late. Your freedom is just one artificial intelligence command from being taken away.
