Branson Named One of America’s Worst Food Destinations
I would like to state for the record that I am protesting this conclusion and I think I can prove it wrong, but there is a claim that Branson, Missouri is one of the worst food destinations in America.
I have no doubt that I deserve blame for some (Editor's Note: MANY) things, but this is not one of them. Blame Cheapism for slapping Branson, Missouri into their (not mine) 16 popular destinations with the worst food list.
On what basis do they think Branson has the worst food?
Their article stated that many online reviewers complained that the "most heavily marketed places charge tourist prices without delivering memorable food". They specifically called out Guy Fieri's restaurant in Branson and Paula Deen. While I'm familiar with both of those restaurants, I can make a case for Branson food being amazing even if you're only looking at Silver Dollar City. Here's my abbreviated list of must-try Silver Dollar City food items:
- Cinnamon Bread: Freshly baked, warm, and sugary pull-apart bread from Sullivan's Mill.
- Tater Twists: A whole spiral-cut potato fried on a stick with various seasonings.
- Kettle Corn: Freshly popped sweet and salty corn on the midways.
- Giant Skillet Meals
- Slow-smoked brisket, pulled pork, and loaded mac and cheese from Rivertown Smokehouse BBQ
- Fresh, hand-patties of burgers grilled right on the public square by Wagon Works Burgers
Plus don't even get me started on the pancakes at Billy Gail's. I laughed out loud the moment I saw Branson included on this worst food list. I've been to Branson many times in my lifetime and, trust me, the food choices there are among the best in the state if not America.
