Missouri’s 10 Best High Schools Are in STL and KC—One Exception
One of the most prestigious rankings of high schools has just released their new top 10 for Missouri with all of them being located in the St. Louis or Kansas City area with one exception.
There is no arguing that US News and World Report's list of the best high schools is considered one of the most definitive in America. Out of over 27,000 high schools across the country, they've narrowed down the Missouri list to feature the top 10 high schools. Note that these are just the public high schools and do not include private schools. Here's their breakdown:
- Metro Academic and Classical High School - 4015 McPherson Ave, St Louis, Missouri
- Collegiate School Of Medicine and Bioscience - 4939 Kemper Ave., St. Louis, Missouri
- Clayton High School - #1 Mark Twain Circle, Clayton, Missouri
- Parkway West High School - 14653 Clayton Rd, Ballwin, Missouri
- Academie Lafayette Armour Campus - 201 East Armour Boulevard, Kansas City, Missouri
- Lincoln College Prep. - 2111 Woodland, Kansas City, Missouri
- Lafayette Sr. High School - 17050 Clayton Rd, Wildwood, Missouri
- STEAM Academy at McCluer South-Berkeley High - 201 Brotherton Ln, Ferguson, Missouri
- Nixa High School - 514 South Nicholas Road, Nixa, Missouri
- Francis Howell High School - 7001 Hwy 94 South, St Charles, Missouri
All of the top 10 Missouri high schools in this ranking are in the St. Louis metro area or Kansas City with the exception of Nixa High School which is located south of Springfield, Missouri. I'm frankly not surprised as Nixa is located in one of the fastest-growing areas of Missouri. It's a great thing that top tier education isn't just limited to Missouri's two largest cities.
