New Models Show Wisconsin Could See a Super Cold & Wet Winter
The easiest prediction in the world is to say that winter in Wisconsin will be cold and wet, but there's a new detailed outlook that shows the state could see one of the coldest and wettest winters in recent memory.
I came across this interesting winter outlook from One Nation Weather on YouTube. He does a great job of explaining weather things in a way that even someone like me can understand. Winter weather patterns are affected by El Niño and La Niña conditions. Nearly all of the meteorologists agree that the upcoming winter in Wisconsin will be under a fairly strong La Niña.
Here's the official winter month outlook from NOAA.
One Nation Weather looks at weather trends from two of the most recent years when La Niña conditions ruled and that led him to make the prediction that Wisconsin is likely to be very wet and cold this winter even above the normal expectations.
One point he emphasizes in this new winter outlook for Wisconsin is that all forecasts now are really guesswork made with recent and historic trends. While it's very possible that the models will be correct and winter will be a record-setting cold and wet one for Wisconsin, all that could change as we get closer to winter.
