As I write this, Missouri is bracing for what could be the most impactful winter storm of the season. That's why it's a little hard to believe something that's just been shared by The Weather Channel about how Missouri's winter might come to an end early.

I first saw this theory shared by The Weather Channel on their social media media places this week. It's their outlook for February through April which shows a surprising conclusion for Missouri and many other states.

I followed the link to a deeper dive from The Weather Channel about what they're expecting and why. While I recommend reading all their details, the short answer is they are calling for a warm-up later in February that never really goes away. Missouri is in the middle of the area where they predict warmer than average temperatures. While they expect the northern part of the Midwest (sorry, Michigan) to have cooler than average temperatures, Missouri will see temperatures begin to ramp up and never really fall back into any other Arctic blasts this winter or so they claim. Since I despise winter and snow shovels, I hope they're correct. However, I've lived through too many March snow events in Missouri to believe that winter will just go away quietly after it blasts the living daylights out of us here near the end of January. I do think it makes for a great theory and we'll find out sooner rather than later if The Weather Channel is right about Missouri's winter saying bye bye in February until December.
