Winter isn't done with Missouri yet. Not by a long shot.

A polar vortex is about to slam Missouri with forecast wind chills to be well below zero for days.

Maps showing temperatures for the next 10 days make it look especially terrifying for Missouri even they don't mean exactly what many people think.

As we get closer to the time when the winter storm system will impact Missouri, we're starting to get estimates on what is possible and that's a key word. Current ensembles of computer models show a high probability that parts of Missouri will get slammed by up to a foot of snow by early next week.

2 prominent weather models are now in agreement that Illinois will see a nasty combination of heavy snow and ice beginning Sunday.

There are still questions about exactly what type of weather will impact Missouri this weekend, but confidence is growing that a majority of the state is likely to experience a heavy snow event.

Once the calendar turns to 2025, it will feel like someone flicked a switch in Missouri and turned on brutal cold. There is now belief that the coldest air in decades could bring unusual snowstorms to Missouri, too.

The 25 computer weather models all seem to be more or less in agreement on one thing - Missouri will get more snow in January of 2025 than the state received in January of 2024.

We knew it was only a matter of time before temperatures in Missouri and Illinois start to feel more like winter.
