I think I have a completely different definition of what "weird" is based on something the internet just declared. What they categorize as the weirdest food in Illinois to me is actually spectacularly awesome and I have plenty of other adjectives that would apply, too.

Perhaps the internet brain trust cannot comprehend the concept of putting two different yet great foods together on one plate. That's the only explanation I can come up with for this interesting graphic shared on the Illinois sub-Reddit that appears to have originated on the Wisconsin sub-Reddit.

Gravy Bread?

In case the map isn't showing up on your device, they're complaining that Illinois gravy bread is "weird". I say they're weird if they're not willing to embrace this delicacy from the Land of Lincoln.

I was able to track down the original article about the weirdest food in each state from Far and Wide. They call out the "Italian roll drenched in au jus, sans meat". Again I ask, what's the problem? You like Italian rolls, right? You also think gravy rocks, correct? Put your hands together and enjoy.

They also don't seem to be too fond of Missouri's (and especially St. Louis) love of Provel Cheese on pizza. More evidence the internet has no idea what's good and what's not.

Feel free to peruse the rest of the weird foods in America as many other states have some great food ideas, too.
