Strange Color-Changing Object Spotted Over Illinois Town

A resident in a tiny, rural Illinois town spotted something strange in the sky overhead recently. It was an object that changed color and seemed to also be causing a reaction from nearby animals. The man captured video of the encounter, too.

This new report to the National UFO Reporting Center site happened near Homer, Illinois late at night on September 14, 2026

Here are the exact words from the eyewitness testimony they shared there:

"Observing the night sky, multiple pulsating lights flew across the night sky in irregular flight path. The pulsating lights could be seen with the naked eye and what was captured on camera is not the effect of Linz blur or lens flare I’ve seen these craft on numerous occasions."

I've watched the video he shared and I can't tell what the aircraft is he's looking at. My first thought was that it might be a large drone, but it doesn't move like a drone. The video's not the clearest, so I can't tell exactly what it might be. However, by definition he has captured video of an unidentified flying object. It will be interesting to see if anyone comes forward with more information that might help us understand what happened that night over Homer, Illinois.
