Did You Know Missouri Has a Massive Airplane Graveyard?

This site is so wild you'd believe it's fake unless you see it for yourself. It's true that there really is a massive airplane graveyard that many don't even know exists in Missouri and I can prove it with satellite photos.

I saw this new share on the Missouri sub-Reddit and I'll admit that I thought it was computer-created when I first saw it. It's a photo of a massive pile of old airplanes. I was able to trace the picture shared there back to its original share on Instagram. Here's a satellite view of this very real airplane graveyard located near Bates City, Missouri.

If you zoom in, you'll see this area is scattered with what looks like dozens if not hundreds of airplanes.

Airplane Boneyards added some backstory about this fascinating place. They say it's 31 miles east of Kansas City and it's operated by BAS Parts Sales. It's known as the place where airplanes go when they die so they can be recycled.

It's not every day that you realize there is a place in your home state that looks like an old airplane garden. It makes sense when you think about it. When airplanes need to be salvaged, they have to go somewhere. Just never realized it was in the Kansas City, Missouri area.
