Storm Chasers Warn of Strong Supercells in Missouri Next 2 Weeks
If you remember how explosive the storm development was in Missouri during March, you might be interested in what storm chasers believe will be happening over Missouri during the last two weeks of April.
I have already seen some computer models that indicate a potential return to the dangerous storm patterns we saw bring great destruction to Missouri a few weeks ago. Now, I see storm chasers and some meteorologists pointing toward the time period between April 18 and May 1 as a possible problem period. The Live Storm Chasers on Facebook shared these graphics which show models of potential supercell development with Missouri being a part of the expected area.
If there's good news for Missouri, it's that the development appears to be a little more to the south than what happened in May. Here's another interesting weather graphic they shared which shows the strongest tornadoes so far in 2025 and Missouri is one of only 5 states that has had an EF-5 twister this year.
As of the date of this writing, we're still a week away from the potential beginning of a repeat of severe storm development over Missouri. It would be wise to watch what the actual forecasts from the National Weather Service reveal once we get closer to next weekend. That will tell the tale if Missouri ends up reliving the tragic weather we experienced in March.
