You might want to slowly put down your shovel if you're near a certain Missouri creek where ominous signs have just suddenly appeared. I have been able to confirm the reason why.

My wife brought this share on Facebook to my attention. It's Dutchinse who I know lives in the St. Louis, Missouri area. I would recommend that you look at the picture he shared from the US Army Corps of Engineers. I have confirmed this is true.

MSN just shared a story saying that the Army Corps has placed signs near Coldwater Creek in Missouri alerting everyone to not dig there. I believe their reporting originated with KSDK in St. Louis. Here is exactly what they report the signs say:

"ATTENTION

DO NOT DIG

Low-level radioactive materials present. No health risk if ground is left undisturbed.

Call before digging: 314-260-3905"

For the record this is not just one isolated area. The report says "196 areas along the 14-mile stretch of Coldwater Creek still need to be remediated".

The interesting aspect of this sudden appearance of dig warning signs is that residents near Coldwater Creek have claimed there was radioactive danger there for years.

Draw your own conclusions about how serious the radioactive problem is near Coldwater Creek in Missouri, but definitely do not dig.
