The Quincy Memorial Bridge will be closing for repairs in a couple of weeks.
The Illinois Department of Transportation reports the eastbound U.S. 24 bridge that crosses the Mississippi River at Quincy will close April 1st.
The work to be done includes resurfacing the bridge deck, replacing and repairing of joints, painting, structural steel repairs, replacement of lighting and other miscellaneous work.
IDOT will set up the Bayview Bridge for two-way traffic during the closure, which is expected to last until the end of November.
Drivers can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips on the Bayview Bridge.
