Quincy Hy-Vee To Offer Crash Course in ‘Freezer Meals’
With the busy school year ahead and kids needing shuttled from one activity to another, parents can often be found picking up dinner in a paper bag through a drive thru window. However, if you don't want to hit the drive-thru every night, Hy-Vee will be holding classes for freezer meals. They're cheaper, healthier, and practically just as easy.
Registration is underway for Simple Fix (freezer meal) classes at the Hy-Vee on Harrison in Quincy. You must be registered by July 29, so time is running out. These classes are designed to create convenient freezer meals, with Hy-Vee's registered dietitian.
Each meal will cost between ten and fourteen dollars and serves four to eight people. There are several meals to choose from, but you must pick a minimum of two classes to be a part of this event. This class's recipes are:
- Brown Sugar Glazed Pork Tenderloin ($12)
- Orange Marmalade Chicken ($12)
- Stuffed Acorn Squash ($14) (Vegan)
- Mushroom and Feta Burgers ($14)
- Grilled Teriyaki Chicken ($10) (slow cooker)
