Quincy Has a Ridiculous Transportation Problem and it Needs Fixing
It feels to me like Quincy is stuck in 2011 when in fact its 2021, this shouldn't be a problem anymore.

"How are you getting home?"
That is the most important question that needs to be asked if you are going out to explore night life in any city in the world. Drinking and driving is one of the worst things you can do as an adult, it is so blatantly obvious that it is a bad idea, there are so many deaths in this country that are avoidable each year if people would just not drink and drive. When I was in college I lost a dear friend to a drunk driver, he was walking home when he was hit and killed.
People want to be able to go out and enjoy the night life of a city, and in most cities in the United States you can do that and easily now thanks to things like Uber and Lyft, along with busses, taxis, and trains. When I lived in Chicago you could easily answer the question above with any of those options.
Here in Quincy I find it extremely difficult to answer that question. Right now as I write this sentence Uber is not available in Quincy (Uber is the largest ride sharing company in the US) so the number one option in the whole country is NOT available in the Gem City. People told me to download Lyft when I moved here, and I did, and Lyft is thankfully available in Quincy, and I use Lyft ALL the time since moving here because I would never drive while impaired. But even so right now as I write this at Noon on 5/14/21 there is ONE Lyft driver in Quincy. I have walked miles home from bars in The District late at night because there are no Lyft drivers available. And as we all know there aren't a bunch of Taxis driving around town anymore to hail a cab.
Quincy has a nice amount of bars and nightlife, but the issue continues that people wont actually take advantage of those bars and pump money into those local businesses if they can't get home. I wish there was something the leaders of this town could do to bring Uber and more Lyft drivers to Quincy or heck even a legit cab company at this point would be fine with me! Anything to help keep drunk drivers off the streets, and encourage people to attend bars and the Quincy night life.
