At its meeting Monday night, the council okayed the city’s application for an Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program grant of over a million dollars.
The money would go toward work on the Sixth Street Corridor Project, designed to improve pedestrian and bicycle traffic downtown and to establish an activity hub.
The work would focus on Sixth Street between Maine and Hampshire.
The council also approved a loan of $1.5 million dollars for Quincy Regional Airport to match federal funding coming to the airport for runway improvements.
