The Old Farmer's Almanac and the "new" Farmer's Almanac are not in agreement about the upcoming Spring season. The new one says Spring will arrive late and include late season snow. The "old" Farmer's Almanac has just dropped a prediction that, if accurate, would be very bad news for Missouri.

It was only a few days ago when the "new" Farmer's Almanac shared their Spring 2025 outlook and it called for a completely different type of upcoming season for Missouri than what the "old" almanac is now sharing. This is the now available "old" Farmer's Almanac for 2025.

What does Old Farmer's Almanac predict for Missouri Spring in 2025?

They warn Missouri to "expect a warm spring, especially in the north (3°F above average in April). However, rainfall will be below normal across the region, with waves of heat and dry conditions likely to continue through the summer".

That last part about heat and dry conditions continuing all summer long should be terrifying for those who understand how bad drought has been in Missouri the past few years. The good news (sort of) is that the drought conditions as they stand as of now are not as bad as they were late last summer.

There are only a few areas of abnormally dry and/or moderate drought conditions as we approach Spring. If the Old Farmer's Almanac is correct and Missouri is in for a dry and warm Spring with little rainfall extending into the summer, I would not want to see what this drought map would look like then.
