Commuters in Quincy on Wednesday and Thursday of this week may need to find a different route if you cross the railroad tracks on North 36th Street at Kochs Lane.  Signs were initially posted this past weekend notifying motorists that the railroad crossing at that site will be closed beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday, but that has changed.  It will now take place Wednesday morning at 7 and reopen at an undetermined time on Thursday.

According to officials at Burlington Northern, the work forcing the road closure will be done to repair or replace some of the track in that area.

Inbound traffic from the North into the City of Quincy or outbound traffic from the South can use 30th Street to the west or Columbus Road to the east as temporary detours until the project is completed.
