A mystery may have finally been solved. Have you noticed that it's hard to find WD-40 on Missouri store shelves right now? I've seen a hack that juts might explain the reason why.

My daughter has a door that squeaks which led me on a quest (an unsuccessful one) to find some WD-40 in a store near our neighborhood in Missouri. I wondered why the place I normally find it on the shelves was bare, but now I think I know and it seems like the WD-40 website is to blame.

If you've done some pumpkin carving, then perhaps you already know this, but this was new to me. A normal pumpkin will only last a few days after it's been cut open. Here's the phrase from the WD-40 website which explains why it's hard to find especially this time of year:

"After you’re done carving, spray your pumpkin with a light coating of WD-40...Not only does it grant extra shine, but the coating will help the pumpkin last a bit longer and delay the onset of decay."

I normally keep a can of this stuff in our house for the "just in case" scenarios like door hinges misbehaving. It's like the liquid version of duct tape which can fix just about anything. Now, you can add pumpkin carving to the "why I need WD-40" list. If you find some at the store, might be a good idea to nab it while you still can. Closer you get to the end of October, the harder it might be to find.
