Many of Missouri's state parks are well-known and for good reason. There is one, however, that you don't hear much about. It's a hidden gem that's actually a 2,700 acre paradise for hikers and bikers.

Busiek State Forest and Wildlife Area is located south of Springfield, tucked away in the hills of the Ozarks. It's some of the prettiest country in America and that's not an exaggeration. It's not far from Highlandville, Missouri.

But, if you look at the area map for Busiek State Park, you'll see oodles of bike trails. There may not be a better place for two wheels anywhere else in Missouri.

If you're a hiker or a biker that decides to explore this beautiful Missouri park, you need to be bear aware as the black bear population is increasing in this area. They are rarely seen on the trails, but you need to know their habitation is here.

All Trails rates the biking in this Missouri park as one of the highest in the state with a near perfect 4.4 out of 5 rating with over 1,300 reviews. I would argue that you'll not find a better view over your handlebars than here.

If you'd like to explore Busiek State Forest and Wildlife Area, you can check out Missouri's official website which has helpful maps and guidelines for what truly is a hidden gem in the Show Me State.
