This would be a good time to mention that I'm not a science genius. Despite that limitation, I have learned that Missouri scientists just did something awesome and they accomplished the feat by utilizing the 4th dimension....whatever that is.

When I mention that I'm not great at science, what I mean is I got a B- in the class. It might have been a C. I can't remember. That doesn't matter though because the very smart (I'm told) people at AOL just shared a story about how scientists at the University of Missouri in Columbia just invented something using "the fourth dimension".

I don't know about you, but when it comes to dimensions, I'm only familiar with 3. The article by AOL says that the scientists create what they refer to as "a synthetic dimension". Specifically, they said this:

The team’s metamaterial has the capability to control energy waves on the surface of solid material. These waves help determine how vibrations travel along a surface.

I have no idea what that means. (*blank stare*) It has something to do with quantum computing and how that will make all of our lives better someday. Blah blah blah blah blah.

The research involves a lot of mathematics and physics and I do remember for sure that I got a D in physics. Don't take my word for it (Editor's Note: best advice you've given). Go read the AOL article for something neato that Missouri scientists just did.
