Missouri Sky Will Turn Red in March for 58 Minutes
No, the sky is not betraying you, but it's true that it will turn red over Missouri for 58 minutes early in March and you can blame that on the moon and the Earth.
The "new" Farmer's Almanac (not to be confused with the "old" Farmer's Almanac) just shared this interesting tidbit about what will happen on March 3, 2026. If you're a Missouri sky watcher, you'll want to know about this.
How can you see the blood moon over Missouri on March 3, 2026?
Astronomy Magazine has some helpful tips for being able to witness the blood moon in early March, but there's a problem. Well, there could be two problems, but let's start with the first. They say the total lunar eclipse will begin at 2:43am central time which means you better either be a real night owl or a very early riser on March 3, 2026. The second problem has to do with the weather. The sky will need to be clear so you can see the moon to see its eclipse. Frankly, the 2:43am central time issue is a much bigger problem for me than the clouds, but that's just me.
My family enjoys experiencing blood moons and solar eclipses, but the upcoming March blood moon will be a tricky one to navigate. To stay up until the wee hours of the overnight or not? That is the question.
