The big cats are back in Missouri - officially. The Missouri Department of Conservation has just confirmed two of these big cats have just been spotted in the state in two different counties southwest of St. Louis.

The Missouri Department of Conservation does not just share reported of mountain lions in the state without investigation first. That's why these two sightings in 2024 have just now been confirmed today.

The first Missouri mountain lion sighting of 2024 happened on January 4 in Pulaski County as the state says "Video of a mountain lion taken by a game camera. LCRT confirmed using photos and other sign."

The second sighting happened in Maries County on February 13, 2024 with the report saying "Photo of a mountain lion taken by a game camera. LCRT confirmed using photos and other sign."

For the record, this is where Maries County, Missouri is on a map.

After numerous big cat sightings in Missouri in 2023, this year has been off to a slow start, but that appears to be picking up now.
