As the Missouri State Highway Patrol will remind you, Memorial Day Weekend can also be a dangerous weekend on the roads and the many waterways in the state. They just shared an advisory that said during last year's Memorial Day weekend holiday, there were 868 crashes in Missouri injuring 356 and costing 4 people their lives. Fortunately last year, there were only 3 boating crashes with no serious injuries or fatalities. Good numbers to remember as you and yours get out to enjoy what Missouri has to offer while also hopefully not forgetting the reason we have this weekend in the first place - to remember those who paid the price for all of us to be free to do things like this.
