Missouri is a state that is rich with history that is also notorious for having strange things happening. Those two worlds have just collided as Jesse James Missouri hometown was the place where strange lights were reported spinning in the sky recently.

This brand new eyewitness report submitted to the National UFO Reporting Center says during the early morning hours of Thursday, September 10, 2026, an unexplained sight appeared over Kearney, Missouri. The resident who submitted this report says they were on a fishing trail near Kearney looking toward the west when they saw this:

"It looked like a light beam from a light house spinning and alternating from bright green to white. Switched about every 5 seconds. Stopped after around 30-60 seconds for 10-15 seconds then reappeared slightly more north."

They added that they did not see a solid object associated with the lights that were emitting them. Just color-changing light beams spinning in the air. How odd? The fact that this happened in the Missouri place where Jesse James was born is interesting to me. When Missourians think of UFO's or strange lights, places like Piedmont come to mind. Jesse James hometown? Not so much...until now.

If you're not familiar with where Kearney is, it's to the northeast of the greater Kansas City area. With the international airport in KC, there are lots of potential explanations for weird sky phenomena, but my first guess would be something atmospheric. Light pillars are not uncommon, but they're normally a cold weather event connected to ice crystals interacting with light which is not what the Kansas City has experienced - yet. So, by definition this person spotted a UFO. We'll see if new information is brought forward to explain what happened over Jesse James hometown of Kearney.
