You might laugh at this, but there are a lot of reasons why I think this is a great idea for just about anyone. What do you think the hottest selling item in Missouri is? A report says it's a doomsday food bucket that can last 25 years.

I saw this shared by NBC News about a super-popular food item that's flying off store shelves in Missouri. It's this bucket of doomsday dinners that Costco has.

The listing says it includes "80 servings of hearty entrees & sides, 30 servings for nourishing breakfasts, and an additional 40 drink servings". It also says that it offers "a remarkable shelf life of up to 25 years".

The hilarious thing about this is many, according to the NBC News report, think that Costco knows something awful is about to happen and that's why they're offering this emergency food supply. Conspiracy theories much?

I'm not a sales person and do not care if you decide to invest in a doomsday food bucket. However, I think that when you live in an earthquake-prone area like we do in Missouri where tornadoes are relatively common not to mention flooding, it's a great idea to have an emergency food supply around just in case. You never know when a crisis might make getting food difficult. I'm not laughing at the many in Missouri that are picking these up. It's a nice piece of mind thing to have if you can afford it.
