Since I was born in Missouri, I am one of the many that needs to be shown things to believe them. Even though I've just been shown what looks like a rare August arctic blast for Missouri by computer models, I'm still not believing it - yet.

I just came across this interesting video shared by Direct Weather on YouTube. What's he's showing is real. As Missouri enters August, notice that the temperatures across the state have taken a dive where some parts of the state are as far as 15 degrees below normal temperatures for this month.

He's not the only one seeing this cooling trend of what looks like a blast of cold air that's cooling Missouri. Travis Roberts shared this European model which shows the cooler air over Missouri even into this next week.

Will this cool air over Missouri last further into August?

According to the NOAA Climate Prediction Center, don't count on it. I checked their outlook for the next 14 days in August and they are calling for temperatures in Missouri to be a little warmer than usual.

I've heard some online forecasters jumping on the bandwagon of claiming this blast of cooler air for Missouri in August means Fall will be arriving early. Have I mentioned that I was born in Missouri and only believe things when I see it happen? That applies to Fall arriving early in Missouri. Expect the heat to return with a vengeance in a week or two if not less.
