Let’s Climb a Somewhat Sketchy Abandoned Missouri Fire Tower
There are some activities in life that sound like fun, but are really more dangerous than they look. That's the case for a somewhat sketchy abandoned Missouri fire tower that you can climb, but you probably shouldn't.
Have you ever heard of Missouri's Knob Lick Fire Watch Tower? It was the property of the US Forest Service that was used years ago to watch for wildfires in southern Missouri. It ceased being an active fire watch tower years ago, but many still do climb it. It's due south of the St. Louis, Missouri area and even south of Farmington.

Does this sound like a good idea to you? I don't recommend it and won't accept any responsibility if those old steps crumble beneath you, but here are the directions from the Missouri Department of Conservation:
"From Farmington, take Highway 67 south 10 miles, then Canterberry County Road west for about 0.25 mile, then Knob Lick Tower Road northwest to the area."
Pro Tip: If you climb to the top (and remember that I advised not to), take lots of pictures to prove you did it and be very careful on the way down. Those old wooden steps are sketchy.
