Midwest Traffic Cam Video Shows Truck Explode, But All Survive
This could have and probably should have been tragic. A suspected impaired driver ran into a truck and it almost immediately explodes, but all miraculously survive. This entire incident was captured by a traffic camera.
This all happens so quickly. The traffic cam video on an interstate in Minnesota shows a car careen into a box truck. It veers into the highway railing and nearly goes over the edge onto the highway below before it erupts into flames. Watch this and understand that no one was seriously injured. Once you watch, you'll understand why this is trending on sites like Digg today.
CBS 4 out of Minnesota added the details to this story which indicated that impairment was suspected of the car driver. The accident happened Monday, April 11 on Highway 10 over MN 65. The key detail in their story is that both drivers suffered "non-life threatening" injuries.
If that truck had gone over the edge, this would likely have been much more tragic for all involved. As it is, it's a close call that could have been much worse. Let's hope lesson learned if the driver of the car was indeed under the influence. The Minnesota Highway Patrol are investigating, but haven't made an official determination if the driver of the car was impaired.
