This should send chills down your spine and it's really beginning to happen. Mass surveillance of Missouri is coming and there's very little you can do to stop it. The truth is that many believe it's already here.

This is one of those news items that tends to fly under the radar. It's an innocent sounding story I saw shared by Barron's about how artificial intelligence "relies on mass surveillance". The machines need to know everything (allegedly).

We already know that the powers that be including all major businesses in Missouri have said that AI is the future and they'll need it to improve our quality of life. Translation? You're going to be watched. Correction: You're already being watched.

Herein lies the problem. If you have artificial intelligence gathering comprehensive information about each Missouri citizen, who controls that? Will there be oversight that you can trust? You don't need me to state the danger of all that information on Missourians ending up in the wrong hands.

I am not an anti-technology person. As a matter of fact, I am a certified computer technician that is a nerd. Knowing what I know is part of what terrifies me about how we're just allowing artificial intelligence to invade every part of our lives.

You should be troubled by the phrase "AI needs mass surveillance". When even the creators of artificial intelligence are warning you of the consequences, you know you're in trouble. We are all in jeopardy.
