Man Dies of Stab Wounds Sustained Last Week in Quincy
What started as an investigation by the Quincy Police Department into the stabbing of a male victim has now turned into a potential murder investigation as the victim has died of his stab wounds. The Quincy Police Department Friday afternoon issued an update to the case and identified the victim as 32 year old Marty J. Johnson. Johnson was pronounced deceased at Blessing Hospital on Wednesday. An autopsy was performed in Bloomington, Illinois yesterday. The findings of that autopsy have not been made available.
On Thursday, June 7 at 5:57 am Quincy Police, Fire and EMS units were dispatched to a disturbance call at 910 North 3rd Street in Quincy. upon arrival they found a male laying in the entrance-way to the alley just north of that residence suffering from a stab wound. He was then transported to Blessing Hospital by ambulance.
According to police reports, there were several people at the scene when they arrived and were questioned. Early reports indicated there was some kind of a disturbance that took place which led to the stabbing. The knife in question was found at the scene and was taken as evidence.
