Major League Baseball’s Spring Training Begins Today
With Winter Weather Advisories seemingly daily around here lately, there is no better time than now to let you know that Major League Baseball Pitchers & Catchers are reporting to Spring Training today. The St. Louis Cardinals, The Chicago Cubs and the Kansas City Royals all start today with the first full-team report day being this Sunday. The Chicago White Sox will begin tomorrow with their Pitchers & Catchers reporting and their first full team report day in Monday, February 18.
The Cardinals will see their first Grapefruit League action on February 23 when they meet the Miami Marlins in Jupiter, Florida. That game broadcast can be heard on KHMO Radio at 12:05 that afternoon. The Cubs will see their first Cactus League action when they meet Milwaukee on February 23 in Mesa, Arizona. The Royals will host the Texas Rangers in their first Cactus League action in Sunrise, Arizona on the 23rd and the White Sox will host the Los Angeles Dodgers that same day in Glendale, Arizona.
All of the pre-season action will lead up to the earliest start ever for a Major League Baseball season with opening day on March 28. On that day the Cardinals will open on the road in Milwaukee to meet the defending National League Central Champion Brewers. The Cubs will open on the road that day in Arlington, Texas meeting the Texas Rangers. The Royals will open the season at home hosting the Chicago White Sox at Kaufmann Stadium.
