‘Play Ball’…..The Big Dog Makes His Picks as Season Starts Today!

"Play ball".  Those two words will be yelled out by umpires some 15 times today as the 2021 Major League Baseball season gets underway with all 30 teams seeing action.  No two words could bring a smile to my face than those two words can.

For the St. Louis Cardinals they will open the season at Cincinnati at 3:10 p.m.  The Chicago Cubs open up at home against the Pittsburgh Pirates at 1:20 p.m. The Kansas City Royals open the season today at Kaufmann Stadium at 3:10 against the Texas Rangers and the Chicago White Sox will open the season on the road against the Los Angeles Angels at 9:05 p.m.

So it is time for me to make my annual predictions as to who will win this season. Listed below are my choices:

NL East............Atlanta Braves

NL Central........St. Louis Cardinals

NL West............Los Angeles Dodgers

NL Wildcards....San Diego and  New York Mets

AL  East............New York Yankees

AL Central........ Chicago White Sox

AL  West............Los Angeles Angels

AL Wildcards.....Houston and Kansas City

AL Champion....New York Yankees

NL Champion... Los Angeles Dodgers
