Log Cabin Repair Workshop Set for April 24 Through 28

Registration is still open to sign up for the Repair and Restoration of a Log Cabin Workshop to be held April 24 to April 28.  The Friends of the Log Cabins is sponsoring, nationally known log cabin restoration expert and instructor, Mr. Joe Gallagher to teach this week long repair and restoration workshop in the Log Cabin Village on Quinsippi Island.  The workshop begins noon on Monday, April 24th and ends at noon on Friday April 28th.

For a donation of $250 to the Friends, participants will spend the week learning about decay & deterioration causes, hewing, making notches and installing logs, the appropriate finishes & coatings for logs, daubing do's & don'ts, maintenance techniques and proper foundations and roofs for a log cabin.

Participants will get to apply these techniques, by assisting the Friends in the disassembly of the Fraser Log Cabin.  Participants can find more information and register via the Friends of the Log Cabins web site at www.logcabinvillagequincyil.com.
