We have known that Missouri has the worst problem with puppy mills in the United States and this is just another sad example. 22 dogs were rescued today from an unlicensed Missouri breeder and were in just terrible shape they now require emergency care.

This happened today in Gasconade County, Missouri according to the Humane Society of Missouri based on a Facebook status update one hour ago. 22 dogs were rescued and 1 was found deceased already from an unlicensed breeder who was keeping the dogs in what can only be described as horrific conditions.

It's not known at this time if all of the 22 dogs rescued from Gasconade County, Missouri will survive or how long they'll need medical treatment. Once their care is complete, many if not all should be available for adoption from the Humane Society of Missouri website.

As KSDK in St. Louis shared just a couple weeks ago, Missouri has been ranked as the worst state in America for puppy mills and that sadly does not appear to be changing anytime soon.

No animals should ever have to endure conditions like the ones seen today in Gasconade County, Missouri. For shame.
