Wow, it is finally Friday. It has been a very ugly week for news. Every day this week has seen an ugly news story develop and the headlines reflected it..

It started with the North Koreans threatening to fire a missile toward the United States on Monday.

Monday was Tax Day in the United States, as well, which would make things bad enough alone.

Then came the Boston Marathon with two explosions killing three people and wounding hundreds.

On the heels of that incident was a report that Quincy Police recovered two detonated Improvised Explosive Devices in the city.

Word also came from our nation's capital that someone sent two Congressmen and President Obama the poison Ricin to inflict harm to them.

If that weren't enough, Mother Nature had to take her turn at bringing bad news with severe storms, including tornadoes canvassing the area dropping inches of rain causing flooding.

That coupled with lightning, thunder and extremely strong winds caused damage to the area and thousands of flooded basements as well.

After hours of listening to rumbling thunder, we woke up Thursday to hear of the news of the terrible explosion at a fertilizer plant in Waco, Texas that killed at least 15 people and injured hundreds not to mention the demolishing of many homes in the area.

To wrap up the week, Mother Nature decided to bring colder weather to the midwest and deposited, of all things, some snow in Iowa, Missouri and Illinois on the 19th and 20th of April.

Wow, what a week.  Lets hope that next week brings us sunshine, mushrooms and happiness to all. Lord knows we need it.
