Iowa Driver Allegedly Hit 120 MPH, When ‘Good Song Came On Radio’
If we're being honest with ourselves, many of us can identify with what allegedly happened to this Iowa dude. He allegedly hit 120 mph and when pulled over by an Iowa sheriff's deputy told him (allegedly) that it happened when "a good song came on the radio".

I saw this swell story shared by The Smoking Gun. Since the driver was 19 years-old, I'm not gonna share his name here, but they do. It happened on 380 in Iowa this week. They shared details from the court document, but I'll summarize:
- The 19-year-old was cruising up 380 in Iowa
- He flew by the deputy clocked (allegedly) at 100 mph
- He was driving a 2006 Honda Accord
- He allegedly told deputy he had gotten it up to 120 mph
- The court document states that it happened "when a good song came on his radio"
So many thoughts to process. I'll first share my own personal story. I was driving in Colorado in 1985 in a Chevrolet Chevette (don't ask). The state patrolmen pulled me over and said he clocked me going 85 mph in a 55 mph zone, but he only gave me a warning because he didn't think he could prove in court my car could go that fast. He wasn't wrong. True story. I could ask the same about a 2006 Honda Accord.
I'm not condoning speeding or doing anything illegal. I've been in a high-speed crash and it isn't something I wish on anyone. I will commend this 19-year-old kid for being honest by (allegedly) confessing he was going 120 mph when he was only clocked going 100 by the deputy. Honesty is an underrated virtue these days.
The big question we're all asking now...what was the song? As of now, that song remains a mystery.
The full story and more details are available on The Smoking Gun.
