According to an article on zippia.com, they have figured out each state's favorite Halloween candy for this year, and I got to be honest I couldn't disagree with these results more...

Their results have Airheads as the favorite candy here in the Land of Lincoln, and with all-time favorite candies like Reese's, Snickers, and M&M's barely winning any states! On the website they say they determined these "Favorites" for each state based on something called Google Trends, in the article they say...

"Using Google Trends, we determined which states were the most avid fans of each candy. We examined 50 different popular candies, given us a range of candies...From there, we determined what candy is searched a disproportionately, high amount. For example, while Tennessee eats all the candies the rest of the country does, the search interest in runts is excessively higher than the remaining states- making runts more popular in Tennessee than anywhere else."

Does that make sense to you? You can read the whole article for yourself by clicking here!

Let me just say this...Why can't you just use data from stores on which candies SOLD the most during the Halloween candy buying season??? Why do you need to use searches? No one needs to search for Reese's or Snickers because they can find them EVERYWHERE because they are the most popular! Of course, you have to search for things like Airheads in Illinois because you can't find them everywhere. I don't hate Runts, or Airheads, but come on am I reallllly to believe that Black Licorice is the FAVORITE candy in Colorado over something like M&M's?
