If anyone knows me, they know I love the blues. They also know that I am a fixture at the Blues in the District concerts and sit next to what is now known as the “Big Dog’s Rock” in Washington Park. For blues lovers out there the 2015 edition of Blues in the District starts tonight at 5:30 p.m.

The District, the organizers for the event, has another great summer lineup this year. The opening act tonight will be Harper and Midwest Kind from Australia.

Additional dates for this year’s concert series are June 26 (Grady Champion), July 10 (Matt Roberts Blues Band), July 24 (Coyote Bill), August 14 (Jeremiah Johnson Band), and August 28 (Hector Anchondo).

All the details about the Blues in the District concerts can be found online at www.thedistrictquincy.com

The concerts remain free thanks to grants and funding from the general public. Food is available for purchase but you are welcomed to bring your own as well as your own beverages. All concerts this summer are at Washington Park and are from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. And remember, "The Rock" is off limits! See you tonight.
