Illinois Rocked by Thundersnow Reported All Over the State
The fact that Illinois has been impacted by a lot of snow today isn't a huge surprise, but the number of places reporting thundersnow was completely unexpected.
I don't like saying "I told you so", but I did warn everyone more than a week ago that a surprise snow event after Black Friday in Missouri and Illinois was possible. If you live in either state, you don't need me to tell you that a major snow event has altered many plans this weekend. Here are the numerous reports I've seen on social media today of thundersnow across many parts of Illinois.
Many have shared video of the winter storm as it began to hit Illinois late Friday night into the first half of Saturday.
Missouri and Illinois aren't completely in the clear yet, but the worst part of this winter storm system seems to be over - for now. Watch out, though, as there is more snow possible early this coming week. Never underestimate Illinois weather when it comes to snow surprises this time of year.
