According to a ranking on WalletHub.com Illinois is the 6th best state to live in if you are single. California comes in first place followed by New York, Florida, Texas, Pennsylvania, and then Illinois. It isn't just because those are the 6th most populated states in the country that put them at the top of the list, but WalletHub ranks the states based on a number of factors from Dating Opportunities, to Dating Economics, and Romance/Fun opportunities.

Illinois scored really high in dating opportunities, 5th place, as well as coming in 6th for romance and fun, however, Illinois did score 41st on dating economics meaning it's expensive to date in Illinois, and ain't that the truth!

For our listeners on the other side of the Mississippi River in Missouri well the Show-Me State comes in at 24th, which is far better than Mississippi, Wyoming, North Dakota, Arkansas, and West Virginia which make up the bottom five states on the list.

Overall I would say this list makes sense and is mainly based on populations, of course in states with higher populations it would be better to be single there are more opportunities for you to meet people. But I will say that Illinois should be docked more for it being expensive, being single in a state with lots of other people is great but if you can't afford to go out on dates then what is the point?
