Illinois Driver Goes Airborne After Hitting Tow Truck
This will likely be the craziest thing you see today. Dashcam video captured the moment that a distracted driver in Illinois hit the back of a tow truck and went airborne. Miraculously, no one was injured.
According to the video description on Rumble, this close encounter of the vehicular kind happened in Millstadt, Illinois on May 30, 2025. The company who shared the video said they were out on a call for a tow on a road where they've never had problems. What is believed to be a distracted driver clipped the back of their tow truck and went airborne eventually sliding down the road into oncoming traffic. You need to watch this one to believe it.
They said "Luckily, it was just a close call, and nobody was injured. We are so thankful this wasn't worse." So many ways this could have been worse. The man working on the vehicle near the tow truck could have been hit by the driver. The tow truck driver could have been injured seriously not to mention the driver who flipped. Then, there's the oncoming traffic which had the presence of mind to stop before crashing into the sliding car. I will just add my amen to what the company said about being thankful no one was injured. Truly, a teachable moment for everyone about how taking your eyes off the road for even a moment can have terrible consequences.
