Have You Voted For Your Rock & Roll Favorites Yet?
One item still on my bucket list is to make the trip to Cleveland, Ohio to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame opened on September 2, 1995 and the first “Performer” inductees included Elvis Presley, James Brown, Little Richard, Fats Domino, Ray Charles, Chuck Berry, Sam Cooke, The Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly and Jerry Lee Lewis.
The first “Early Influences” inductees included Jimmy Rodgers, Robert Johnson and Jimmy Yancey. John Hammond received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” and Alan Freed and Sam Phillips were inducted as “Non-Performers”.018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Predictions
Each year, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation's nominating committee selects the group of artists nominated in those three categories. Fans are given the opportunity to vote for their favorites they'd like to see inducted into the Rock Hall. The top five vote-getters in the public poll form one ballot, which is weighted the same as the rest of the submitted ballots by Rock & Roll historians.
The last day to vote is January 10, 2020 and you can vote at www.rockhall.com. The induction ceremony will be held in Cleveland on May 2, 2020.
