The Hannibal High School class of 2020 may not get a traditional graduation ceremony, but they will get a parade through the streets of Hannibal.

The Hannibal City Council Tuesday night unanimously approved a request by School Superintendent Susan Johnson to stage a procession/parade Thursday, May 21st, which had been the date for the seniors’ commencement ceremony.

The procession will begin at 6:30 p.m., beginning at the Hannibal Middle School, and making its way along Palmyra Road, Mark Twain Avenue, Third Street and Broadway before ending at Grand Avenue.

Hannibal Police officers will be volunteering their time to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
