While scouring the interwebs for information on Quincy’s Dogwood Festival, I may have stumbled upon some never-before-seen images from the Gem City’s inaugural spring celebration in 1970.
This is the season for small town festivals all around northeast Missouri and western Illinois. All the communities that stage such get togethers do a fine job.
It's Homecoming Week in Hannibal. The Hannibal High School Homecoming Parade was held at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening down Broadway. Players, cheerleaders, the Pirate Pride Marching Band and Hannibal residents turned out in their black and red to show school spirit during the parade.
The 2015 Big River Steampunk Festival kicked off with a parade in downtown Hannibal on Saturday morning. Even Mark Twain got in on the fun! We were able to capture footage of the parade as it made the turn from Broadway to Main Street.
The Hannibal Jaycees are accepting applications for upcoming National Tom Sawyer Days events, including the Fourth of July Parade, Hannibal's Got Talent talent show, and National Fence Painting Contest.
