A St. Charles, Missouri plant nears its closure as General Mills has just notified the state of the final layoffs as the closing date approaches.

As we shared back in early April, General Mills announced that this St. Charles, Missouri plant would be closing

This is the General Mills facility located at 3850 Millstone Parkway in Saint Charles, Missouri. General Mills just submitted a new updated WARN notice to Missouri which says the following:

"General Mills Operations LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Mills, Inc., will be closing its plant located at 3850 Millstone Pkwy, Saint Charles, MO 63301. The closing will be permanent. We expect the job eliminations to occur on or about June 30, 2026, or within fourteen (14) days of that date."

Here are the jobs that will be affected by new layoffs as the closing date approaches:

  • Controls Engineering 1
  • D&T Site Lead 1
  • Logistics Manager 1
  • Maintenance Manager 1
  • Plant FSQ Manager 1
  • Manufacturing Excellence & Operations Manager 1

The notice from General Mills goes on to say "Employees affected by the closing do not have the right to transfer jobs or to displace workers at other company facilities." According to the Missouri Jobs site, this new layoff notice will bring the total jobless up to 1,813 for those companies large enough to be required to submit WARN notices.
