Don’t Miss Playing in This Golf Event to Fight Alzheimer’s
Ron Whittaker got some horrible news some 10 years ago. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. Over the past ten years the disease has slowly taken many of Ron's memories. Obviously, the family has had to deal with the issues of this dreaded disease as are the families of other Alzheimer's victims. The caregivers always suffer the most when a loved one has Alzheimer's. With this in mind, Ron's family and friends have decided to put together a golf outing to raise funds to fight Alzheimer's.
So Saturday, October 12, is the day the "Swing For The Cure" golf event will take place at Arrowhead Heights Golf Course in Camp Point. This 3-person golf scramble will feature a shotgun start at 10 a.m. at a cost of $210 per team. The cost includes 18 holes of golf, 2 drink tickets (with free water), and sandwiches (served during the event). Hole sponsorships are available for just $100 each.
There will be prizes given for the longest drive, closest to the pin and to the first place team. There will also be raffles and a 50-50 drawing with all proceeds going to the Alzheimer's Association's Walk to End Alzheimer's. That walk will take place this year at Upper Moorman Park in Quincy on Saturday, September 14 at 9 a.m.
The hope is that you will sign up your team now, so a check from the event can be presented to the Alzheimer's Association on the morning of the Alzheimer's Walk in advance of the event.
If you would like more information on registering a team for the "Swing For The Cure" golf event, contact Mike Rischar at 217-209-2466 or by email at e_rishar@yahoo.com.
