It's that wonderful time of year in Illinois when mushroom hunting thrives. Unfortunately, the effort to find mushrooms turned into a chilling encounter for one Illinois man who heard trees snap and then he heard a blood-curdling scream.

I came across this interesting encounter that was shared by YouTube channel Bigfoot Society just a few weeks ago. They interviewed Bill who was mushroom hunting in Illinois not far from Jubilee College State Park. That's an area in Peoria County between Kickapoo and Brimfield off of Route 150.

Bill - "It was a nice sunny day...my dog went ahead of me...and the next thing you know, I'm looking around starting to pick up mushrooms...I hear a noise off to my left...trees cracking...I stopped...I had the eerie feeling something was watching me....as I looked to my left, I thought I had seen some movement..."

Bill - "I acted like I was still going to pick up mushrooms...I kneeled down as I was looking around trying to scout the area...all of a sudden, I hear a big yell...a yell I've never heard in my life".

Bill knew that the deepness of the yell could not have come from a man. He became more alarmed when he heard another yell and then he heard steps and trees start to break. He estimates that the sounds were around 40 feet away from him.

It was then that Bill saw his dog running toward him and she was coming from the direction where he heard the screams. Her tail was between her legs and her hair was raised as she approached him.

Listen to Bill's full eyewitness testimony as this was not his only encounter in Peoria County,, Illinois. It's quite a story.
