CBS News reported that in late February, their board voted to keep 5 of the Acero charter schools open. The location at 7416 N Ridge Boulevard was not one of them. Acero Schools shared a statement a few weeks ago about how the schools would transition to CPS by July of 2026. The schools say they are working closely with parents and students affected by these closures and will continue to attempt to make the switch as seamless as possible.

These are challenging times for educators with questions about funding and support and this Chicago charter school closure is just more evidence of that.
